CHESTER SCHOOL COUNCIL NOMINATION FORM - 2021-2022

To Become a Voting Member

A Parent Member May:

  • Serve in the capacity to be determined by the Council at the time of election and at other times as Council requires;

    • Vote on Council business where a vote is required/desired; i.e. on budget spending, initiatives, etc.

    • Participate on committees established by Council;

    • Solicit the views of other parents and members of the community to share with Council.

 

Any Parent can join a meeting, suggest ideas, bring forward any idea to be discussed, however only those who are designated VOTING parent members can be part of the final decision through a vote.


For parents to be a voting member, they must complete a self-nomination form. The self-nomination form will be sent out early in the school year and includes a nomination for becoming a voting member.

You must complete the form in order to be a voting member  It must be completed by the deadline stated when the form is distributed. You are still welcome (and encouraged) to attend Council meetings even if you are not a voting member.

A parent member who fails to attend 3 Council meetings during the school year shall be assumed to have resigned his or her parent membership, and with that their voting rights.

Once voting parent members are selected and in place, the executive will be nominated and voted on by the parent members.

 

 

All nominations must be in before Sept 27, 2021
